Stock-Up Alert: Zaycon Foods Meat Sale

I am taking a chance and posting about something that I've never tried before!  I just ordered 40 pounds of boneless, skinless, chicken breast for $1.69/lb from Zaycon Foods, and I'm going to pick it up on Monday.

Zaycon Foods is a reputable company, and is recommended by both Saving Addiction and Sarah's Deals.  Zaycon Foods hosts "savings events" and they are coming to West Michigan next week.  I ordered the chicken breast, but Zaycon Foods is also including competitively-priced lean ground beef ($2.99/lb) and bacon ($2.99/lb) in this event.  We eat a LOT of chicken, so I'm excited to get this price on chicken breast!  The cheapest I have seen it at our local grocery stores lately is $1.79/lb...and that's a rare occurence!

You must place your order in advance (UPDATE:  they have extended the ordering deadline to Saturday, February 25), and then go to pick up your meat on Monday, February 27.

This is a LOT of meat to buy at a time, but if you have enough freezer space, this is the deal for you!  You could also split an order with a friend if you are short on freezer space or cash.

Still a little hesitant?  This post over at Sarah's Deals should help answer some of your questions.  Sarah has ordered their chicken breast before, and she lists out some quality details and price comparisons on the ground beef.  Also, everything I've read on-line (other blogs, and comments from blog readers) states that the chicken breast is VERY good...less water added than other brands, and hardly any fat to trim.

To place an order, go to the "Events" tab on the Zaycon Foods website.  Scroll to the bottom of the page, where you will see the option to register.  After you have opened an account, you will be able to place an order and select your pick-up location.

If ya'll are chicken (ha ha) and want me to be the guinea pig, that's fine!  According to what I've read, Zaycon Foods comes to Michigan once or twice a year...so you'll have another chance soon.  But, the prices do NOT stay the same from one event to the next, so if you want to be guaranteed these prices, order today!

  1. Thanks for the shout out! I have a great post on how I fully prepped the whole box for use as well. Even if you don't buy 40# at a time, I hope it helps give you ideas for larger quantities. http://www.sarahsdeals.net/2011/07/bulk-chicken-preparation.html - I've also started thinking about how to freeze chicken packs that can go right into the crock pot, I hope to post on it soon.

I also have a weekly recipe linky that you are welcome to add recipes to: http://www.sarahsdeals.net/search/label/Recipes
