Waste Not, Want Not: Menu-planning With Food Scraps

This week's recipes fit nicely with the concept of using up leftovers.  The recipes practically speak for themselves, but I guess part of my job is to speak for the recipes :)

Vegetable Beef Soup is a great way to use up leftover beef roast, gravy, and any vegetables that you might have in the house.

Chicken Bachina helps you make good use of food scraps because it calls for bread chunks as the topping.  If you have a partial loaf of bread (or some older bread that you have frozen) that you need to use up, make Chicken Bachina!

Also, did you notice that Chicken Bachina calls for 1 1/2 bags of frozen broccoli...and so does Broccoli Casserole?

Do you have a partial bag of Heath bits, one lone candy bar or chocolate square, or a few cookies left in the package?  You can crush, chop, or shave them and use as topping for Chocolate Dream Cake.

OK, so there's nothing extremely creative or earth-shattering about these ideas, but
if you consistently include leftovers and food scraps in your menu plan, you'll see a drop in your grocery spending!
